All of Gallura is characterized by a great variety of flora and fauna.
Speaking of animals is necessary to distinguish the many animals found in the inland Gallura hair, such as wild boar, commonly called "porcavru, foxes, weasels and martens, with the birds that go from the sea to the foothills of the only chain Mountains of Sardinia, the Gennargentu.
Among these is certainly above the Sardinian partridge, the typical camouflage plumage, which has a migratory pattern, but there are also many hawks, thrushes and crows.
The real owner of the land remains wild boar, as hated than loved, it causes harm to the shepherds and farmers, for example, damage to local crops and vineyards.
In addition to these animals 'common', many others are protected in the park of La Maddalena.
The vegetation is very lush: cork trees, mastic trees, oaks, myrtles and junipers (which are derived from alcoholic beverages) and cysts are the most representative examples. A layer of shrubs is rather widespread, but the heather is not uncommon to see even a few plants of holly.
About vegetation should mention the constant danger of fire that has its maximum in summer and continues to decimate the forests and woods of the Gallura.
