Flora and Fauna
Whole Gallura is characterized by a great variety of flora and fauna.
Speaking of animals necessary to distinguish the numerous animal hair present in the hinterland of Gallura, such as wild boar, commonly called "porcavru, foxes, weasels and martens, with birds and sea go up to the slopes of the only chain Mountains of Sardinia, the Gennargentu.
Of these, certainly above the Sardinian partridge, the typical camouflage plumage, which has a migratory pattern, but there are also many hawks, thrushes and crows.
The true master of the territory remains the boar, who loved as hated, it causes harm to the shepherds and farmers, for example, local vineyards and damaging crops.
In addition to these animals 'common', many others are protected in the park of La Maddalena.
The vegetation is very lush: plants cork, mastic trees, oaks, myrtles and junipers (from which are derived alcoholic beverages) and cysts are the specimens represented. Level of shrubs is very widespread but the heather is not uncommon to see even a few trees of holly.
About vegetation should be mentioned the constant danger of fire that has its maximum in summer and continues to decimate forests and woodlands of Gallura.
